Who is Deena Miller?
Deena Miller is the Program Director for the Write/Right 2 Read program located at Holy Spirit Catholic School in Great Falls. She is a certified tutor in the Barton Reading and Spelling program, has attended national conferences and training courses including The International Dyslexia Association Conference, LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling), and Lindamood Bell Lips training. Deena is an adjunct professor at MSU Northern in Great Falls, teaching college teacher preparation classes that incorporate her language series workshops. Deena Miller also teaches summer graduate level classes and offers 1-day, make-and-take classes, designed to help teachers and parents better educate students in the science of reading and spelling.
Deena attained a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Elementary Education and wonders why these subjects and topics were never taught to her. Through the diagnosis of her daughter's dyslexia, many doors of opportunity have led her to a new journey of understanding our English language. Teaching reading is rocket science-there really are reasons why we spell words a certain way and why we divide words into syllables as we do. Breaking the code of our English language is the key. Now is the time to take a better look at breaking the code and learning spelling and syllable division rules that make reading and spelling easier for everyone.
Join Deena in her journey to unlocking those doors to a better understanding of our English language.
